Peter has over 15 years coaching, mentoring and career counselling experience with executives, senior executives and senior functional managers within national and global organizations. He specializes in raising an individual’s productivity within their organization through career alignment with motivational strengths, focusing on effective relationship management as a key leadership competency. As a senior executive with broad functional experience he brings to his coaching engagements a strong business driven focus. Peter’s diverse geographic work experience in Asia, the Americas and Europe provides him with expertise in working in a multi-cultural context.
Prior to co-founding Compass Motivational Solutions, Peter held senior leadership roles in the Asia Pacific region working for a Fortune 50 company. As Business Director of a $1.5 billion business portfolio, he led the establishment of 5 manufacturing companies and the negotiation of various technology licenses. Peter’s corporate background includes engineering, manufacturing management, industrial relations, product and technology commercialisation, marketing, asset management, global business process integration, strategic planning and international mergers and acquisitions.
Peter has been involved as a coach in many contexts, including leadership development for high potential executives, relationship coaching between CEO elect and Board Chairperson, coaching to increase collaboration between senior executives within a government agency, and senior partner coaching within the Australian branch of a major global management strategy consulting group.
Education/Professional Achievements
Peter holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma from Australian Institute of company Directors. He is licensed to use a range of diagnostic and development tools including The Birkman Method® motivational indicator and the BarOn EQi emotional quotient indicator. Peter holds a Level 2 Executive Coaching Certificate with the Australian Institute of Executive Coaching and is a Fellow of The Institute of Engineers Australia and a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter believes that the control over achieving one’s full potential and personal fulfilment is in the hands of the individual. His prime focus is to:
- Assist individuals to tap into their core motivational drivers, defining their sense of purpose and motivational choices and to align these with the needs of their organisation
- Provide information on the individual’s own set of rules or expectations and how these can be managed effectively as motivational strengths and to meet leadership development needs
- Put the control with the individual over working with greater emotional intelligence through understanding and managing their perceptions, expectations and potential reactive behaviour
- Assist individuals to increase collaboration and work with effective and conscious communication in the work environment through understanding their own rules and working effectively with the different rules or expectations of others
